Table Saw Guard Requirement

Post by wesneveu »

I have a Greenie dating to 1954 with no saw guard. The saw guards on the SS site reference the current saw guard material being aluminum, I have no saw guard to reference. Is the 505875 Model the guard I require?

All the Greenie pictures I find on the internet have no saw guard. I this how they are used, sans guard?

I believe that the system would work OK. However I would recommend that you place a call to Customer Service first.

My 1976 model came the metal guards. A real pain to use and well I didn't much. When the new plastic guard came out I went to that. The one you linked to is the second generation of that and I upgraded to that as well. It works pretty well, still not as nice as the 510/520 versions but they don't fit the 500 so that is that.

Yes that should fit your machine.

Thank you for all the replies. Im new to the SS world and it can be a little confusing with all the upgrades of this long lived tool. I would feel safer with a saw guard.

A saw guard was an extra cost option back then.
