Converted two Mark Vs into Mark 7s. Completely renovated a Greenie and rebuilt three other Mark Vs- all with new belts, upgraded bearings and other thing else needed. Every one of them are purring. The only problem is I’ve run out of space in my garage shop. I have an overhead router table, scroll saw, power station, dust collector, and... well the list is smaller of the things I don’t have than what I have.
Also have 6 Model 10E/ERs with a number of speed increasers. Don’t have them on benches, but lined up against the wall- so no problem there. Can’t really do that with a Mark V.
Need to break down at least 4 of the Mark Vs. I vaguely remember my father getting a his 510 in the 80s. I believe it was in one box. I’m thinking if can regain some space if I break the Shopsmiths down. I’ll be able to move & start scaling down what I have & be able to move around the garage/shop. One good thing is I replaced all the casters, so they glide on the garage/shop floor.
Does anyone know the size of a box that might hold a complete Mark V? Are the way & bench tubes boxed separately? Thanks in advance for any info.
