Small gift Box

Here's a small Christmas gift coming up.

The SS Bandsaw got me some "nearly free" resaws of walnut and Kentucky Coffeetree. I did the dovetails by hand. The routing on the top-lid was a snap on the OPR router which I use a lot.

Overall box looked pretty drab until I sprayed some aerosol shellac. Whoa, that made a difference!

Nice work Chris! Those dovetails are beautiful!

I love making boxes. One of my favorite project types. :)

Making small boxes is fun because you can do it in a short time, and they are so useful when done.

Those hand-cut dovetails look terrific. I've watched how-to videos, but never taken the plunge. How long did it take you to master that skill?

Hi and thanks! I'm not a master yet. But I hand-cut my first dovetails last April. I've done about 4-5 "practice corners" and 4 full "small boxes" since then. I've tried to learn from mistakes, like anything :) .
