It looks like it has a speed changer, but either the pulleys are missing, or just removed and not being used.

Not necessarily a bargain, but a very rare original 10E table raiser.

I have one like that I bought on eBay a number of years ago. I check eBay daily and this one is only the second one I have ever seen. I don't remember what I paid for mine. It certainly is not a bargain vs the crank and arm if you just want one to use. As a collectors item I would pay that price if I didn't already have one since they are so very rare.

What's the story on those, John? I own 10E SN E-1750, and it came with what appears to be all of the original 10E stuff, as well as some 10ER-vintage upgrades such as the newer aux table and rear fence clamp. But I'm pretty sure that table-raiser assembly was not included.

Like many 'details' with he 10 E/ERevised there were variations and additional 'things' available(think speed changer). This item was very scarce(I imagine not much demand since the 'table raiser' with the arm and screw was already out there). I imagine the initial price was high also.

I have only seen it 3x on E-bay.

It was sold as an accessory, and must not have been too popular as it doesn't show up in the later accessory catalogs. http://vintagemachinery.org/pubs/detail.aspx?id=5736
