The gap at the outfeed end of my jointer table is ABOUT 1/2" but I do not believe the gap should be the criteria used.
With the infeed and outfeed tables coplanar measure from the table top to the top edge of the jointer fence. I believe you will find it to better very, very close to 3" the entire length. If that is not the case, you might have an issue.

My eBay jointer had the exact same issue. I was able to mostly straighten the quadrant by applying judicious pressure with a bench vise. But I bought a replacement anyway, and it was better yet.
As did my half century old one. Judicious use of a vise corrected it. The fence nubbin just barely contacts the table.

Yep, saw that the upper part of the clamp was angled upward. Dennis, did you try to heat it up or just squeeze it in the vise cold? Hate to break it...
I did mine cold, and went slow. IIRC, it springs back a bit when you release the clamp pressure. So I did it over several cycles, bending it a bit more each time. I don't know if heat would help with that alloy or not, but I have a hunch that it would take a whole lot of heat to make much difference.

I used a drill press vice with a lever lock. The lock only 'squeezes' a small distance so that allowed for iterative squeezing also.
That lever lock can exert substantial pressure over a very small distance.
