If you are using a dado arbor with a standard saw blade then you can ignore everything I said about the kerf being centered.

I use a saw arbor with the standard saw blade. I use the dado arbor with dado blades. I use a shaper arbor with shaper blades.

When using a dado arbor, as you well know, the actual location of the kerf dependents on which spacers you use and how you locate then on the arbor.

You say you have had no issues using the dado arbor but I'd bet you have - you just compensate. The dado arbor can, at times, make contact with the Tie Bar and prevent you from raising or lowering the table. Repositioning the carriage can overcome that but (in my mind) that is an issue.

If you have not been using the correct saw blade arbor, then you have never discovered the automatic centering that is designed into the SS. Most of us take that for granted. It really is convenient.

Thanks guys,, one is never too old to learn ,I am glad I found this forum.

To honest I never realized the off center cut until now.

I have a question about the 520 set up ,, is it graduated for the fence?
I have a old skill table that is graduated and even has a digital read out ?
Obviously the blade is fixed with the table however it has a auto zero , ya slide the fence to the blade and hit zero and it is ready to go , surprisingly very accurate.
