Now that I'm retired as of today, I'm back to making jewelry boxes. I decided to try out a Texas shaped box to start out with, since I'm from Texas.

You can see thru the block. You will now glue the back slice back onto the block to form the back of the drawer slot.

Good job, Fred. Now that you have down the mechanics as how the process goes, here is a book you may enjoy.

You may like this book with about 20 patterns that you can copy. The patterns are in the back and you can take them to a copy place and have them sized to 100%. https://www.amazon.com/Building-Beautif ... dsaw+boxes

There are several other books that are almost as neat as Lois's boxes.

Texas Shaped Jewery Boxes

I finished 5 Texas shaped boxes. I like the rounded front better than the flat fronts.

+1 on the rounded fronts. More "character" that way. What kind of wood?
