10ER mounting tubes for Skips adapter question

Post by reible »

I'm looking at Skips SPT adapter for the 10ER and noticed that I will need longer legs to use the bandsaw on it. I have a set of legs that came off the 520 table when I converted to the dual tilt and was wondering it they might work for that.

Other wise I will have to order some tubes from him too.

One of many March tool order to take care of. I had only budgeted for the adapter but the tubes are not too much more but then I have the spare legs hanging around so if I could save a few $$ here I can still stay close to budget.

I don't think there should be a problem. I found the following on Skip's web site.

"•1 1/4" tubes can be cut from spare Mark V table posts or extension table brackets. Late model Mark V toolrest posts can also be used. (not the all thead type)."

I used the legs off a spare Mark V 500 extension table. I just unbolted them from the table and fed the up and in from the bottom of the bracket. That way you can still use them if you need to use the table again.

I like this idea. I have several of these hanging around not being used right now so I'll give it a try.

I have my adapter on order, should ship in about a week. It was the last one he had. He will be looking into having more made if he can get the parts. Due to the laws of supply and demand these have just become more valuable, well at least until there is a supply again.
