Owl's are back

Owl's are back
I was out last week and got a few pictures of the owls including this one in the nest hole:
This weekend I got to see the owl fly out of the nest as I was approaching. A possible photo opt but I wasn't expecting it and wasn't ready. It did land where I could still see it and did get a few more pictures like this one:
We then went to another part of the park and took a walk in the pines. This so reminds me of what it was like back at home where we had a lot of planted forests. The area had been logged off and not like they do now, I mean it was clear cut. When they replanted the stuff was in rows just like this picture shows. In the winter when the trees would be covered in snow and snow on the ground it was so quiet the it was unnerving. It is something to experience if you haven't already done so. So here is a picture from today:
This was planed as a wind break in farm fields so it is only 3 rows rather then forests of trees.

I enjoyed the photos and the stories behind them!
Gale's Law: The bigger the woodworking project, the less the mistakes show in any photo taken far enough away to show the entire project!

I'm sure I've posted this before, but here it is again.
I use a long focal length lens, while it may appear I'm close rest assured I do not approach the animals and only shoot from established trails with in the parks I walk in. My intent is only to photograph them and to disturb them as little as possible.
Some of the animals are quite use to having people walking by. Here is a picture of some geese playing log rolling. I'm perhaps 100 feet away and they are not in the least concerned that I'm there.
I have not observed the owls bring food back so they might be in the egg stage or with very young ones. Once the little ones are more demanding it fun to watch the adults bring things like snakes for them. I've gotten to see that several time. I will bring a chair and set quite a ways away so as to not disturber the process. Even at that I limit my time to 15 to 20 minutes.
It's one of those things I enjoy and still get to do.

Every time I see wild life I dont have a camera.
we were cutting wood last fall and had 2 deer walk with in 20 yards of us like we were not even there.
Same with coyotes , they come up and bark at us .
