Gilmore drive system issues

Started the furbishing of my Greenie today first issue to work through. The gilmore idler sheave is stuck to the idler shaft. The one thing I haven't tried yet is to get a big hammer and knock it off. If I resulted to that there probably would not be enough left to work with. Any suggestions to break them apart? Second issue is the bearings on the Gilmore drive sleeve need to be replaced and I am sure the clutch needs to be rebuilt. How difficult is this for some one who can replace components very well? I can tear down headstocks and rebuild all day. I just haven't graduated to rebuilding the components yet.

re the idler sheave (the fixed one) there are clips that hold it in position on the shaft, have you removed them?

If you are(very likely necessary) going the gorilla route only apply force to the hub of the sheave and the shaft. That leaves wheel puller out. Neither is doing this easy(access).

Have you tried "K1" or ATF/Acetone.

So the glimer clutch is just washer in order. If I take it apart and clean them they go back together in order is that what i understand?

Beware the spring.

I would NOT mess with it unless you have first determined there is a 'NEED".

I have determined there is not a need just replace the bearings on the drive sleeve.
