The belt direction can be reversed by rotating the motor 180 around a vertical axis. However that places the motor 'off to the side' of the SPT.

Not sure I follow that. I'm wanting to mount both Bandsaw, and Jointer on separate Powerstands. They both look to be rotation specific.

Yes they are.

With a CW motor mounted UNDER the SPT, they would be operating backwards.

With the motor rotated to the other side of the belt, they would be operating forwards. But then the motor is no longer UNDER the SPT, but off to the side of the SPT.

What I thought. From what I managed to find on the web the Emerson motor I have is very difficult to reverse or rather not wort the effort. That sound familiar?

The 'word' is "impossible". The internal splice that needs to be accessed is inaccessible.

Both the band saw and the jointer are sensitive to direction of rotation.

I would first of all confirm that both motors are turning CW (determined as JPG has explained).

All of my motors (three on either power stand or power station) are mounted by bolting to the top of the stand. Pulleys line up with the respective SPT.

You said you have two power stands. Do they look alike. I ask because the power station motor is reversible.

I picked up the SS last Thurs. Everything seems to be as I expected. With the exception of the Power-stand. Seems the motor (Epson 3/4 HP) turns the wrong direction. Clockwise. The motor tag states "motor non reversible CW shaft". Not sure what the cw shaft thing is. Is this possible or is my limited mind not seeing it? This motor sits about midway up the legs, at the brace level. This was never a working stand as I understood it. The owner never completed it with pulleys, and a belt. Maybe this is why?

I also picked-up another Power-stand on the same trip..different owner. It however has a different setup. It has the motor suspended upside down just below the top of the top shelf. It is an 1 1/2 HP as it was for the planer. It also turns counterclockwise! As it should.

Anyone have any advise for the clockwise spin on the motor.

I've not seen, or been able to find any instructions on the Power-stands.

If you are saying that the motor is inverted and mounted to the underside of the top shelf that is what I would expect. The bolts used to mount the motor also sure as tension adjustments for the drive belt.

But my question is, how does this differ from the other PowerStand. Both motors mount on mine the same way.

Apparently you did not grow up with a farming background. Twist the belt into a figure eight, problem solved.will not work with link belts.

I'm sorry but I misspoke. The "power stands" are not reversible but the Crafters Station and "Power Station" are. The later two use the same type motor. touche
