Looking for a good inexpensive source for hardware

I am looking for a good source for project hardware. For a Shopsmith example: 515859 Knob with Stud. The price is all over the place for these things. My next project requires 12 of these knobs (8 1/4 - 20 x 3/4 and 4 1/4 - 20 X 1 1/2). The price is all over the place from $1.50 to $6.50. The Shopsmith example is the lowest price I've found but I need other sizes on occasion. The same goes for other types of fixture type hardware. Anyone have a good source on this type of hardware.

Not sure what you're building, but I love the heck out of Woodpeckers' multi knob. You can either use a nut or a bolt of whatever size you need. Well made and gives an outstanding grip. http://www.woodpeck.com/multiknob.html

I think J.W. Winco must the mother lode for this sort of stuff. Also levers, handles, cranks, etc. No minimum order and free ground shipping, but a $9 fee added for orders under $50.

That looks like a good solution and eliminates the problem of never having the right length stud. The price seems reasonable considering the price of the individual threaded knobs. They come in a 12 pack and it just so happens I need 12 for this project.

I often have an order ready to go already when these free shipping times happen and this time is no exception.

I do the same thing. I ask about ordering out of stock items during the free shipping periods and was told my card would be charged when the item shipped with free shipping. I have several of their tools and have never been disappointed.

Lee Valley is my go to source for brad point drill bits. They have all the odd sizes that my Shopsmith set does not include.

I think I need to put an assortment of these on my wish list. I really like the idea of being able to just grab a bolt the right length and go with it and I don't think I'm going to be breaking many of these knobs.
