New woodworking tool or just an offset umbrella??

I've wanted some way of suspending a vacuum hose for the shopsmith and now the guided saw system. So I've got this new plan where I get some free shade as well. All for less then $70 plus tax so depending on your tax rate.......

You need to add some weight to the base by way of some patio blocks that fit in the lower channels, about 200 pound or so should do.

If the umbrella is in the way I guess I can just remove it......... no idea how that all works but if there is a will there is a way.

Still on sale for a few more days if you are interested.

So what you are saying is I should add a table, some chairs, couple of candles and a bottle of wine and just use it that way?

I can then spend $350 or so for a Festool boom arm and use that for the dust collector........ brilliant!!! You guys are the best!

Seriously I think this will work well out in my driveway where I have no overhead bits to hook a hose to. I do have my homemade dust exactor upper saw guard for the shopsmith that could made use of this along with any other tools I would/could use outdoors.

Also when working in the driveway the sun gets things like the shopsmith head stock pretty warm just by shinning on it. I've not had any heat related stoppages but keeping it in the shade might still be a good idea.

Just having a little fun back at everyone. I do love to re-purpose things even threads here. In this case to have a little fun with the thread. Once there are pictures of it in use it will be much clearer as to how it will work providing it will work.

Rain, 50-60 mph winds tonight so I can only think about it. Perhaps this weekend I can set it up and get a feel for it.

To use as a hose holder, put some castors with a locking one or two, purchase a plastic bucket from Lowe's or Home Depot and a bag of concrete. Fit the bucket over the stem and begin to mix the concrete. Let it set up and you have your weighted stand with castors to use any way you desire.
