That looks like a good deal for those of us who served, but didn't make a career of the military.
Thanks for posting it.

This is a change to previous policy but has been a local store option for some of us for a while now. Some stores only gave the special 10% off on like Memorial Day and Veteran's Day while others gave the discount all the time.

I went ahead and signed up as it is easier then having to bring your DD214, your My Lowe's card should now work. It was really fast! Entered my information and clicked and up popped the results.

Gee just in time for picking up a few plants this week. It is really nice of them to do that.

They've always accepted the VA ID. But, signing up with them, (Lowes) will make checkouts faster by 10 seconds. And, at my age, every second counts.

That is a really good thing! There are other things in works. AAFES, and I assume the Navy/Marine, exchange will start selling to all vets on line in December I think. It is tax free and mostly good prices. Besides the profits go to the military. What better way to support those of that have served?

Also the VA last year was directed to issue all veterans an ID card even if they are not enrolled in the VA.

I encourage all vets to check out the VA. You might be surprised. All the negative you have heard is not what I have experienced. If you are a vet you are eligible for treatment. You are also entitled to many other benefits.

Just check it out and get what you deserve and served for.

That's great, John. When the opportunity is available in Dec., I'll be taking advantage of that.

As John said, just go to your nearest VA with your DD 214 and get enrolled. Then request a VA ID card and you can use it at both Home Depot and Lowe's. Also, Michaels and some other stores will honor the card.

And, if you have or are developing diabetes, it is now considered by the VA as a service connected disability. I don't understand that, but it is what it is. I hope the changes coming in December are worthwhile.

Steve, the VA considered my ADHD as service connected.

Now, if they would consider arthritis as service connected.

10 ER, stripped down.
Basic 10ER, Parts machine. Will be a semi-dedicated drill-press machine.
10 ER, a "survivor" of the trailer fire, in the back yard, needing restoration. Has a Mk5 headrest. Finally, stripped down.
Numerous parts, for Model 10 stuff. Except for lower saw guard, A and B adapters, I've got it.

Looking for one more, or some 9 inch extension table raisers.
