Mark v date of manufacture

How do I find the date of manufacture on my mark v?
I bought this unit used and want to know how old it is. The
Tag says SS1505.

That ser # does not show up n my list.Can you post a pic of what you have? It may be a ser # from a Model 10E or a 10ER. Others on this site will chime and tell you.

My list skips from 1961 to 1978 and has no info in between. Where did you get the 1973 info from.

That sounds more reasonable. This unit is grey and textured, great shape. I emailed Shopsmith and they said there were no 4 digit serial numbers and it was made in 1954.
This tool looks good. I need to find what horsepower the motor is. What is the best way to determine that? When I can post pics I will. Sorry for being such a newbie.

It is 1 1/8 hp.

Did you tell them the '4 digits' were preceded by 'SS'?

Besides, what does the vent plate say?(where you found 'SS1505')

SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders,molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.

Vent plate says: Warning use this high speed shaft for jointer and sprayer only
Shopsmith Inc. Tipp City, Ohio. has a logo with a large C and SA inside the C.
