Possible sharpening jig.

Post by robinson46176 »

I picked this up at a yard sale for $7 about a week ago. When I saw it I thought it might make an addition to my stable of sharpening jigs and tools. I have done a lot of sharpening over the years, some just for me and a lot more as part of the services we offered to the public for many years. This just looked like it has potential...
It's most of a Belsaw key cutting machine minus the arbor shaft, drive pulley and the milling cutter. It bears some resemblance to my scissors and pinking shear machine in some ways. Part of it is the business end of a micrometer which could give it a good level of potential accuracy. I'm kind of thinking in terms of repeatable profiles based on hand cut patterns. Only time will tell but the concept should be fun to play with. :)

Do you sharpen your Woodmizer bandsaw blades? I made a sharpener last month to sharpen my blades but am still looking for plans for a DIY jig for setting the teeth.
