Exactly! It isn't about picnics at all. It is about those who didn't return home. We all know some of them.

Absolutely, it is all about those that did not come home. Too many just think of it as a paid day off.

In my mind, everyone that has served and/or still serves, is a hero. Ed's signature line says it all.

We have 3 members of the family that will be at the campfire this year who served and made it back , we have a lot to be thank full for.

Many of us have lost family in numerous wars throughout our history, many noble veterans have served and come home, and many are serving active duty right now.

Each one knew or now knows what may be required of them. On Monday each of us are to remember those who gave their lives, as well as their families.

May God safely hold and preserve this nation and our honored dead in His hands.

+1 from an old Viet Nam vet who served on two carrier cruises. Some of us did not come back. Yes, they are part of us.

My dad is a honor guard at the age of 70 , they have services every week for the fallen ,, last week I think he said they had services for 3 of America's Hero's , some made it back and are still giving , Some are coming back with little life left to give ,
