Y-Piece for Festool Dust Extractors

I see that Festool sells a anti-static Y- Piece for their dust collectors. However they don't tell you much about it. It does have blanking plug so it can have either one or two hoses connected.

I thinking about times when I might want or like to have two hoses connected. Right now I have the stock 27mm hose but want to add a 36mm either later this year or next year. At this point I'm pretty much using the dust collector on Festool tools.

Is anyone here sharing duties this way?
