I was on their hit list for a while. I finally realized the time of day and area code the robo call was coming from.
I started answering those calls "Microsoft Customer Support - What Product are you calling about this morning?" Then silence by me.... sometimes it took them a minute to recover then hang up.
After about three calls, I didn't receive any calls for weeks. Then it started with a new number.... catching on to that, I repeated my answer given before. Once a supervisor came on the phone and asked "now who is this?" I replied "Microsoft Customer Support" They asked how I had this number in Texas for Microsoft. "Oh I said, I am a contractor in this time zone, and redirect calls we can't handle in house."
I can engage them pretty much across the spectrum as I am a Certified Government Chief Information Officer with 25 years direct IT experience, so it's easy enough for me to confuse them on the phone. I wasn't quite expecting a fellow calling to then offer to send me his resume, but if I ever choose to, I just bet I can identify them.
I think I am off that list...
No calls in while.
