To back up Ed R's diagram: the filler hole isn't behind the cast-aluminum cover with the embossed Magna "M" trademark*- it's behind the shiny sheet-aluminum plate on the other (drive shaft) side.

*On mine actually a "W", since the previous owner put it on upside-down and I've never pulled it!

Thanks for all the help on the lubrication of the jigsaw. With this information I have filled up the bottom of the jigsaw, and put a little in the top of it. Found if you put the lube in the top center it finds its way down your blade. So I will put a little down the sides, or maybe I just need to replace some seals. Otherwise adjusted the bottom stop for the blade and just can't believe how well it works. Very nice and still working since 1959.

I will have to get me a manual and find some seals for this now.

Is part number 74 the oil seal? Looks like a need one and a source for it since mine is leaking like a sive.

Yes, #74 (#502264) is the oil seal. I sent the following information to quite a few oil seal companies with no positive response yet. If anyone finds a supplier, please let me know. Thanks.

I am looking for a single lip oil seal: for a 0.625 rotating shaft diameter, a 1.0" bore diameter and a width of 0.125" - 0.150" range. It will be sealing an light oil bath housing.

I have the following oil seal numbers NOK AF0640-E0 & OS 06251000-125 VB but I am unable to find anyone selling them.

I googled on "NOK AF0640-E0" and found this:

it looks like they want to issue quotes on at least $300 quantities to manufacturers and distributers.
