Not exactly woodworking

Post by masonsailor2 »

So two weekends ago we got the steel up and this last weekend we managed to get the canvas up. Was definitely a challenge in the heat. And yes the SS was used in the project. There is over 750 ft of 1/4 line that we had to lace the canvas up with and now we can park the cars out of the blazing sun here.

But looks good anyway!

The tank is my water tank. The steel structure is 2" galvanized steel. The fittings are ready made fittings I purchased. The canvas is a pvc by sunbrella that is 24 oz material. They warrant the material for 10 years. My best friend owns a canvas shop and has a seam welder and grommet machine so it was time consuming but fairly easy to make. I went a little overboard on the grommets at 6" OC. It should help make it last longer. I rented the scissor lift for the weekend to simplify matters. They gave me a weekend rate on it so it was very reasonable.
