My shop is small. Basically one half of my garage. In an effort to utilize my Shopsmith better and incorporate it into the overall flow, I searched for a way to attach other items to the unit.
I still like to use a router table (under table router), but a benchtop table takes valuable space for storage and use.
Solution:
I found some clamps used for stage lighting made by American DJ. One inch with rubber insets that really grip to the tubes for the table. With those, I'm making a new router table that attaches between the main table and the fixed support table on either end. Aside from this application, these will also allow me to attach just about anything to the tubes. Maybe even a 4x8 piece of plywood for an assembly table? Who knows. At any rate, it creates a modular work station, with the Shopsmith at the center, for use with any tool that is usually bolted to a table. These sit just above the table when attached, so no additional changes are needed. Link below.

I too thank you. Looks like a great idea for making all sorts of goodies. Have it marked in my list for my Add-On items for next Amazon order!!

Got pictures?
Sorry I just can't picture how you are using these. It sounds like fun but nothing is coming to my mind of the "how to" nature.
Load rated at 28 pounds, how is that related to what it does? Could you put a 25 pound bar bell weight on a vertical tube and not have it slip down?
