Attached are photos of my 2 latest projects - A Clamp Cart and a Lumber Cart.

The Clamp Cart is a collage of different ideas I picked up from Woodsmith, Shopnotes and Wood magazines.

The Lumber Cart is my rough intrpretation of an idea sent into Wood magazine a while back.

It's fall here, with a low of 21 degreess. It feels good to have the wood stove going in the shop!

Hi,

A pair of useful projects!

Could you snap a couple of photos of the clamp cart with all of the clamps removed? (Just kidding

) But I do have a couple of questions:

I think I see bar clamps hiding under the pipe clamps. Are they clamped to the back of the cross pieces that the pipe clamps a resting against, or am I not seeing some other part of the cart?

What are the approximate overall dimensions of your clamp cart?

A clamp cart is high on my list of thing to make for my shop, thanks for sharing your work.

I'm envious of your organization. We still have the airconditioning blowing. It was in the high 80's today. Nights do drop to the high 60's or low 70's.

Nice looking projects, lodgepole! I'm sure you will benefit for a long time with them.

It is easy for me to remember and relate to the comfort of a wood stove, as I resided in Montana for 40 years or so. Also, although my shop is only 60 miles North of Gary's, it is about 3 thousand feet higher. Here in the high desert, it has already been down to 20 at night, but gets up to the high 70s or low 80s mid afternoon. I have an electric heater to take the chill off in the mornings along with a collection of flannel shirts.

Nice projects. I have one suggestion. You should be able to use your photo display/editing program to rotate your photos in the proper orientation. That way I won't have to put a crick in my neck to view them.

Dennis,

The overall dimensions are:

Top: 17" x 16"
Bottom: 25 1/2" x 16"
Height: 60 1/2" (not including casters)

This clamp cart was designed to fit a specific location in my shop. If possible, I would recommend increasing the width of this cart to be able to include additional pipe clamps (or whatever clamp you have).

There are bar clamps are clamped to the back cross pieces.

I am pleased with using the pegboard interior. I have purchased additional, smaller clamps, and have rearranged the the clamps in this area at least 3 times.

Thanks for posting the additional info on your clamp cart! The peg board center had attracted my attention as a good way of dealing with my smaller clamps and clamping accessories, glad to hear that you have found it to be useful.

I gota ask if the clamp cart is top heavey with such a small base. Does it feel like it wants to tip while rolling? I suppose if you took care not to load the heavey stuff up high it might be alright. Nice work thou I must say,,,:D
