Sharpening your own saw blades is fine. In the old days with steel blades that was fine. I would never attempt to sharpen a high quality carbide saw blade my self. Nor would I want to.

The almost laser cuts of the high end blades are because of the manufacturing process that the video shows about how blades are repaired and sharpened. That is why I send my Forrest blades back to Forrest for tune up and sharpening. They come back like new and the price is very cheap just like in the video.
