Power Pro Headstock

Post by quaddrussell »

I upgraded to a power pro headstock a couple of years ago. I'm a little behind on normal maintenance and went to go through the steps and realized I don't have anything that is specific to the power pro. All I have is the manual that came with my Mark V 520 about 11 years ago. Should I have received something with the power pro that describes the routine maintenance. Some things are still applicable but many of the operations for the 520 don't appear to apply to the power pro. I still don't find anything on the SS Support website specific to the Mark VII or the power pro.

Sorry, the post should say Mark 7, not VII. I guess there is a difference.

No real maintenance to do. Just take the belt cover off and maybe the motor cover if you choose and blow out any sawdust that is in there. No oiling required. Check the belt tension but do not adjust anything unless absolutely necessary

I'm looking at my paper work that came with power pro and if you want I can copy and send.it has following sections: Safety, Parts Explosion, Instructions, Operations, Maintenance and Troubleshooting.

The paperwork reflects what is said in way2crk's post

Thanks for the quick response. I was hoping I hadn't neglected something critical.
