I hit a snag on the liquor stand so I won't be able to complete it for another week. The mirror for the bottom shelf is proving difficult for the local glass shop. I started the next project which is a small beveled glass table. She gave me the drawing some time ago but I have been mulling it over for a while. The legs were the issue. I finally worked it out in my head and started. It will have alder legs and the rest is Honduran mahogany. The legs will curl up and hold a small platen that will hold a 3 3/4" obsidian sphere. This is all in keeping with the Art Deco theme. I laminated up the alder and got them shaped and sanded today. The rest is pretty straight forward. The beveled glass will be framed in the mahogany. The glass was the given dimension as it was a freebee from a while back when the glass company delivered some glass table tops that were the wrong dimensions and they let us keep the ones that were wrong.

Had a pretty decent day in the shop today and got some progress on the new table. Nice to be home after 4 days in Miami/Ft Lauderdale. Today I surface sanded the frame for the glass, milled up the edge moulding for it and finished milling the legs. So far pleased with the results. I included some pics of using the different sleds to index and mill the curved legs. The process involved milling a flat surface at the top of the legs and cutting the lower end of the legs in plane so when assembled the lower part of the legs terminated in plane to support the platen that will sit atop them and tie the legs together at the bottom. The legs will now attach to a base which is next. I layed a piece of shelving on the lower legs and they turned out pretty close.
