I thought I would share with you Mark VII owners my project for the day. I have been searching for a blade guard for a while and after getting more chips than I wanted decided to try to eliminate at least some of it. I made this lower guard that seems to work quite well. It locks in between the carriage and the head stock when the blade is centered in the table slot and doesn't move and is not attached in any way other than friction. The material is 1/4" Lexan and a piece of Shop-Vac tubing, put together with # 16 plastic adhesive.

That looks good. I can not see in the images posted but I assume that it lifts snugly against the bottom of the table.
If that is so, does it travel upward when you lower the depth of cut (blade height above the table)?
