Woodriver mortising attachment fit?

Post by Wes7373 »

I picked up a Woodriver mortising attachment a while back for use on another drill press (that died). Tried to fit it on the Shopsmith, couldnt' get it to mount properly. Anyone have one of these attched to the Shopsmith drill press?

thanks,
wes

What doesn't fit? If it is the diameter of the quill body then there is no way to make it fit without machining out the attachment.

That 'other drill press' have a 1 3/4" quill body?

A pix of what you have would be helpful.

It's the attachment at the quill, it comes with a couple split spacers that go around the quill then fit into the chisel holder, but they aren't the right inside diameter. I'll try to post some pics later.

You could turn spacers from hard wood to fit
