Thanks for the confirmation! Turns out the motor was held in by but one bolt to the motor pan. That can't be good.

I think ya need 3 more bolts.
SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders,molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.

There is a sleeve spacer(it is there in the 'motor' pix) that should properly space the fan sheave to motor spacing.

However the fan sheave has wear that allows the spacer to eat into the sheave. That wear is shown on the sheave pix.

A simple 'fix' is to place a thin washer between the spacer and the sheave. Simpler than a new sheave that is.

I assume there was a key connecting the shaft and the sheave as well as a set screw. If not it needs to be replaced(1/8" square key stock).

That set screw should tighten down on the key and really tighten it down.

I thought there should be some form of spacer in there. Where do you see it? A nice bearing would do the trick, but that would throw the alignment off, I think.

I have the key, just no set screw. I'll work on getting that and get this thing back together. Fun project!

Get a 'cup point' set screw.
