A Donkey's Ear

Post by Gene Howe »

Anyone know where to find info on the making of a Donkey’s ear for use with a shooting board. Searches on you tube and google were not productive.
Needed for shooting 6" wide miters.

Hi Gene,

It seems like there are a lot of donkeys-ear jigs easily found on a web search; are you seeing something that's too small, or what isn't turning up for you?

I have to admit, for this style of joint, I have been using my SS tilting table along with the 12" sanding disk. I'm a big hand-plane fan, but haven't made myself a donkey's ear yet.

Thank you Chris and Dusty. I guess I gave up too soon. After my post, I looked some more and, this time google came through. Found what I needed... in Australia.
Thanks again.
