new 510 owner

just got my 510 2 weeks ago from an older gentleman that took very good care of it looked practically brand new. I may have a lot of questions soon but my first one is I already have the nova g3 chuck now I'm looking for the adapter piece and it only seems to come with the nova g3 kit that shopsmith sells. I don't need the whole kit just the adapter which I am assuming is 5/8th??? I have been looking all over the products page and I cant seem to find it. Thanks in advance...

I don't think shopsmith sells the adapter by itself. However other places do. You want this one:

If you look in stores make sure it has the "S" stamped on it. They make a version for non-shopsmith 5/8" and you do not want that one.

No, that one won't work.

I just measured mine and it looks to be 1 1/2" x 8 TPI. However there are other dimensions that are important too.

This photo shows the proper Shopsmith adapter mounted in my SuperNova2 chuck and the generic 5/8" Nova adapter. Note how there is an unthreaded nose that extends into the body of the chuck. The PSI adapter doesn't have that even it was the right size.

Get the proper Nova adapter that reible listed above, then you will know that it will work properly.
