Computer Browser

Post by berry »

I'm hoping to get a new windows laptop for Christmas and I wondered what browser is preferred these days. I'm certain you know more about computer stuff than I do. Thanks in advance.

I use Firefox and have for years. It is free and developed continuously by Mozilla. I would not use anything else. Others will disagree but that is their choice.

It will come with the new Microsoft browser. You can use that first and see if you like it. If not, I also suggest Firefox.

Call me foolish but I choose to minimize exposure to viruses and malware, therefore I use one manufactures products. I use the new edge when on windows and Safari when on my IOS IPad.

I figure when a virus or malewRe is discovered a single manufacture has a better chance to contain it rather than expecting two or more manufacture to coordinate efforts. So far Windows Defender that came with windows10 has kept my pc trouble free and nature of the beast with my IPad has kept it trouble free.

Life is good :)

Has it occurred to thee that being in the majority 'group' makes thee one of the more likely targets due to the size of thy group.

Once a vulnerability is 'discovered', it becomes a turkey shoot(sorta).

I have used Fire Fox for several years and thought it was the best, but just recently switched to Google Chrome. Its close but I think Chrome has the edge now.
