Web site issue?

Post by reible »

I was going to check on my order of mid Sept. How I normally do this is to select the red bar where it says WOODWORKING RESOURCES then go to Other then to Personal Home Page.

What happens is it times out saying that Shopsmith.net is not reachable. I've not seen this happen before and never paid much attention to the link it takes you to. However the .net address doesn't seem to work. Tried on my tablet too and it doesn't work there either.

I tried to go directly to shopsmith.net and nothing working there either.

Could a few others try and see if they can use this link? I'd also like to know the URL if you do reach it.

Same is happening to me. Checked last week and they told me my 11/27 order was shipping the next day but nothing. I'll have to call again I guess.

I did my order at a woodcraft store demo so I don't have the PO #, so it gets a little tricky to do with the other link.

I've used the personal pages within the last week or two so this is something that has just happened since then. I'm reasonably sure it has to do with the link, and the fact it points to a .net address where as all the other links go to a .com address.

Sent a message to admin. I'm pretty sure the problem is on the shopsmith end.

So while we are at having issues.....

Contacting shopsmith says:

"Website Support

If you have a problem with the website itself, please email webmaster@shopsmith.com."

and with my email kicked back saying:

"Sorry, we were unable to deliver your message to the following address.

<"email webmaster"@shopsmith.com>:
553: 5.1.2 The recipient address <email webmaster@shopsmith.com> is not a valid
5.1.2 RFC-5321 address. a187si1558787qkc.70 - gsmtp"

So my message got no where..........

I'll try a PM next

Obviously shopsmith.com/ss_forum works or you would not be able to post here. So tell me, please.

Have you tried shopsmith.com. and if it did not work what error message was you given?

shopsmith.net does not work for me either but it seems that I have been using the .com for a long time. When .net did work for you, is it possible that you were being redirected and now that is what is out of service?

See the first post.... WOODWORKING RESOURCES, Other, Personal Home Page. The link is to shopsmith.net and it doesn't work.

Sure we are all here on the forum and yes the .com stuff is working.

However that doesn't help me to check my order which is pointed to off my Personal Home Page. As I mentioned I don't have a PO# to use so I'm stuck with this as my path to the answers.

If you have a way to your Personal Home Page then it is different then my path which seems to depend on the .net address working.

Again it has worked in the near past, maybe a week or so back. It is not working now today, someone mentioned it has been unreachable for them too.

Thanks for the heads up. We had changed ISP which resulted in a change in our IP addresses. I had missed updating DNS for shopsmith.net.

It is now corrected, but may take a short while for some people, as some ISP's cache (remember) the old answer briefly.
