It would seem to me that the scam is that he was told his membership had expired when indeed it had not.

If that is exactly what he was told. There is a difference between "your Membership is About to Expire" and "Your Membership Is Expired".

YES - I read his post very carefully. He said it did not expire until 6.6.2018 but he got the memo anyhow.

If indeed an additional year was added to the current 'membership', then the magazine analogy fits. If not appended, then that is the scam.

Yes it is all less than totally upfront honest, but they be dealing with sloppy human nature. They are trying to avoid 'membership' expiring(no NOT the members themselves!).

It seem pretty clear to me. The letter from Sams said "We noticed your membership expired...."

An after though comment:

I want to believe that if I received that notice and knew that my membership had not expired all I would do is call to make sure and let it go at that. Life is too short to get all wound up over the simple things.

Don't think for one short moment that getting excited over this will cause any changes to be made. Que Sera, Sera

Just wondering if anyone else has gotten a notice like this? I'm a Sam's Club member and sure have not. I have to wonder if it is location driven.
