My info says that I joined in 2009 but I'm pretty sure it was before that. I think I was on here for a period of time then left for a while mostly due to my mother's Alzheimer's getting so bad a few years before she died from it. When I tried to come back I was having trouble logging is so I just signed up as a new member. I first got on-line in either 1995 or 1996. I had put it off due to hearing so many goofy horror stories about the evil internet. Once I first got on-line It really annoyed me that I held back that long. Early on I was on a lot of different email lists including some SS and Skip's 10-ER list.
We had about an inch of snow last night but the wind here was really screaming... Near constant white-out about all night. Needless to say the near annual Christmas Eve Midnight Sleigh (golf cart) Ride, around the farm trails, was canceled...
In that level of wind I would have been afraid of the cart top causing lift-off. Definitely a brass monkey night.
Looking at the 10 day forecast I don't see much likelihood of any midnight rides in anything open and without a heater.
We do use the cart in pretty bad weather some times for fence repairs, horse checks and horse care uses but it's different in bright sun and that use is only 1/4 miles trips or less. I've promised myself a foul weather cab for the cart but have not gotten it bought yet.

Here too, which is highly unusual, we seldom get a white Christmas, and some years we don't get that much in total.

Merry Christmas to you all. No snow here as we drove from Connecticut to Gainesville, Florida to spend the holiday with our son. Five of us and two dogs for 1200 miles! I seee it snowed back home!

We only had about an inch of snow but something went wrong. The last forecast I had seen was calling for a low last night of around 12 or 14 degrees... Exactly why is it 3 below this morning?
Oh, well... We take what we get.
At least it is a "dry cold".
We often have 20 below about now so this is better.

The low this morning was 12.8º and right now a 2:30pm it is 36.5º.
Driving to Sacramento next week so will have some warmer temps for a few days.
No tax refund. Haven't had one in years. We only try to minimize what we owe. We sold one of our houses last year so that deduction went away this year. This year we paid off the house we live in so no deduction next year.
Life is great!
