I do not recognize the term omnis, but it could be called something else now. My husband works on some of the communication systems, TACAN, DME, and PAPI equipment but I know there are systems that others work on.

How about "VOR"? Remember the vintage. The local site is AIUI still operational.
An imaginative person would visualize a 'grounded flying saucer' when viewed from above. Maybe see a ring of 'headlight pods'.
