Hola Amigos - Save 20% On Repairs

Post by jsburger »

Has anyone got this email from SS? I am not sure where this is going from a SS standpoint but I don't like it.

This is not the way I want to see SS going. This is totally stupid.

I got the email. Not sure what the problem is with it that you see.

Oh I think it is 'clever'.

I wish that cleverness was directed a different direction.

It is 'cute'. That is what is 'wrong' with it.

I have not received that email but if this is all that it is about, I don't see anything wrong with it. Someone who has been thinking about doing a retrofit will likely jump on it. I mean, after all, 20% off.

It states repairs/tuneup, not retrofit nor upgrade.

Still 20% which I assume does not apply to parts cost.

New ad director?
I don't see a problem. 98% of advertising success is just getting someone's attention... Often campy does that. Apparently this one did. :)

Didn't mention my "original,"
Just the later copies.

Sometimes, I think ShopSmith
doesn't like Cast Iron!

Seriously, the ad did it's job.

10 ER, stripped down.
Basic 10ER, Parts machine. Will be a semi-dedicated drill-press machine.
10 ER, a "survivor" of the trailer fire, in the back yard, needing restoration. Has a Mk5 headrest. Finally, stripped down.
Numerous parts, for Model 10 stuff. Except for lower saw guard, A and B adapters, I've got it.

Looking for one more, or some 9 inch extension table raisers.
