Forrest Blade Sharpening Service

Post by jsburger »

I sent my Forrest WWII 40 tooth blade for sharpening for the second time in 10+ years. Forrest received it on 23 Jan and charged my card on 6 Feb. That was exactly 2 weeks. The blade arrived today 8 Feb shipped USPS Priority mail 2-Day. Another reason for buying from a quality company like SS. :D :D :D

I'm confused, are you just relating SS to forrest woodworking or is there some business connection in missing.

Also I picked up 2 forrest woodworking 2 blades (standard and thin kerf) and was considering sending them in for sharpening since I got them second hand. Do you the factory service is worth it for these blades?

I never said there was a business connection. Forrest is a company that has customer service like SS and they sell a very high quality product. Yes their blades are pricey but so is a Shopsmith. There is a reason for that.

In my opinion it is more than worth it. I have no idea what it costs to have a blade of this type sharpened out in the hinter land. Regardless, I am sure it will not be up to Forrest standards. What I will say is that the Forrest pricing is reasonable to me. They will put your blade back to brand new factory specs or tell you why they can't. If it is fixable they will tell you and they can fix it.

Oh, BTW you don't have to prove you were the original purchaser. Just send them the blade. They also sharpen other manufacturers blades and router bits, etc..
