Sorry to bust your bubble Ed, but I have watched the items in my Nov order go from all being in stock for a few days to being out of stock again. I have even had my order go from being shipped to items out of stock and back to in- process.

Things have changed again. Now the one item appears like it is shipping today which could still be days away............ and it is the item that I really don't need yet. But I'll take it.

This is the item that has shown as out of stock for a long while, the other item had been shown as in stock up until recently but never shipped. This is the item that I could really use sooner as I sent mine off to my brother because he needed it and I thought a replacement would be forthcoming.....

Mind you just hours ago it showed without the out of stock designation.

One has to wonder how the cue works at shopsmith, do older orders get the parts first or not?? And how do they decide when they will do a partial ship and when they don't. How or why did they decide the lathe arbor which according to the report was available back in Oct. not just ship then. Yes I know it is extra postage but it is hardly the customers fault they have out of stock items.

So life goes on.

Rockler his having a VIP event tonight at my local store. Have to decide if I want to attend or not. Coupon for $10 off $50, $20 off $100, $50 off $250. Pretty sure I can find $50 worth of things pretty easy but a lot of traffic trying to get there at 6:00, trip home at 8:00 is not a problem.

Lot of people want my money, just trying to keep some of it for food and medications and life in general.

The quill feed stuff arrived today, now I have only the lathe arbor due. According to the data they are still hoping to get this done by March 1st.....

128 Days and waiting, but not for as much as before, progress has been made.

BTW Rockler and the state only got $73.69 out of me which was a savings of $11 and tax.

Day 131. Status of the lathe arbor is no longer out of stock! So while we are getting near the wire for the March hope for date it is possible it will ship and end this LONG wait.

To celebrate I orders some more Festool stuff before the price increase. One of the items will not be here until Apr. but that's OK they told me that before I even ordered. New product, the bluetooth vacuum upgrade.

So here is hoping that I don't have to have a day 132 or at the very least a day 133 post.

UPdate says it shipped! Tracking number isn't working yet but that is par for the course. If it got out early enough I might see it tomorrow. If it was late in the day then add another day.

So it looks like in my case the March 1 date is a reality. Good on Shopsmith.

Not sure how others with back-orders are doing but this is encouraging from where I set.

Looking forward to finishing off this thread.

I am still waiting for a replacement quill assembly that was ordered in October. They keep saying they are having “vender” problems. I talked to them last week and it will be at least the end of March. At that point I asked if they could possibly find just a shaft that would allow me to get the machine up and running. He promised to call me back with an answer. Five days later no call back. I asked if there were any PowerPro self upgrade kits available and he was evasive when I told him that there were quills in those kits. It is one thing to be out of stock on accessories but a very different matter when you are out of stock for more than six months on parts that are necessary to keep the tool running. When essential parts are no longer available in a timely manner Shopsmiths fall into a very different category of tools. As a woodworker have always relied on Shopsmiths in my shop. If I can’t keep them running they become useless junk. Very sad.

If you have some of that useless junk that you need hauled off, just let me know.

This saga is over. The lathe arbor arrived in today's post. Shopsmith got it done by the March 1st date as well.

Now to clean it up and see if it fits...... yes I worry about such things. The MT-2 should not be an issue but fitting the drill check could be. Best I find out now then when I have to use it just in case things are not well.
