On my walk today

Post by reible »

Once in a while you get surprised by something you find along a walk. This was trail side and the person cutting the fallen tree got inventive with the stump.

It must be cool to set on as it is naturally ventilated.

No I didn't try it.

The lighting was unusually interesting today. At another location this sea gull poses out in the river. The water gave just as good as show as the bird. I can't explain it but I can live with it and like it.

One of the first things that blooms around here are skunk cabbage. So of course I had to venture in yet another park today to see how they were doing. As you can see they are in full bloom.

And I needed to return to the park where I had seen the early Blue Birds when they arrived just before the last big snow storm. Had they survived? Had they flown back south? Had they?

It turns out they were only a couple of hundred feet away from where I had last seen them. Got a lot of pictures but this was my favorite.

I know how some of you like to play the guessing game so here is a little mystery for you. Check out this youtube video I shot today and check out the strange lights.

The solution is here but you have to wait for it.......

Did you guess it? Didn't think so.

Remember back some years I posted some owl pictures? So today was a good day for some new ones that included this one:

Eggs or owlets???? Could be either or both.

BTW you have to watch for some faux great horned owls like this one:

Here is the last one, a video I took that looks like some special effects were applied. There is no special effects applied, this is how it came out of the camera.

This is the star of my outing today so I saved it for last.

Interesting to see the picture of the skunk cabbage. The ones we have on the west coast have bright yellow flowers.
