I assume this is about poly-v motor belt and a poly-v idler pulley. FACT - the belt must be completely raised above the high ridges to slip between the grooves. Simple pushing will not work. Gotta have slack also(critical).

I'm not as good as Dusty on the picture taking but attached is what my upgrade looks like. Both the Quill and idler shaft are flush against the ring clips, yet the upper belt is at an angle still. Do they both have to be against the clip or can I move the quill farther into the headstock to make that belt straighter.

Looks to me that the belt is not in the correct position on the upper shaft, and the lower shaft needs to be pulled out some. On mine the lower shaft has crept into the housing a bit on occasion requiring me to pull it out a bit. I would rather do that than over tighten the eccentric and crack the ears...

That is exactly what was wrong. Thank you for the re-assurance. I went ahead and pushed the idler shaft out some and was able to get the belt move over by one groove. Further checking and I may have to re-do the motor belt adjustment one more time to get things right. Not sure if I have the motor pulley lined up with the idler shaft now that I moved it. Charlese was right there is alot more to this adjustment then the DVD and manual describe. Several re-adjustments are needed until you get it right. Thank you again.

Chris is right, the creep into the housing is common. So much so that I pull off the belt cover about every 6-12 months to check the belt position and while I'am at it the belt tension.
