Places to Purchase Hard Woods in San Diego

Good evening,

We are going on a family vacation to San Diego and hoping that it may be easier to find some nice hardwoods (imported and domestic) that may be more reasonable than in Salt Lake area. Does anyone have some suggestions for places that may have more reasonable priced lumber for lathing projects?

Also if anyone knows where we can get some scrap wood too, that would be awesome.

It has been awhile (over 10 years) since I was in San Diego but when I was there I used to go to The Hardwood and Hardware Company. Not sure what the prices are like now. I was able to get some 8/4 purple heart for a reasonable price.
