Does anyone know the actual length and OD of the Bench and Way tubes? I heard that a galvanized chain link fence post would work.
Thanks for the help

52" long Way
52 3/4" long Bench
1 1/2" EMT comes closer, BUT, it is very thin walled.

Re: Bench and Way Tubes
If you are going to use anything other than the real thing for way and bench tubes, I recommend that you try 1 1/2" RIGID conduit.
https://www.grainger.com/product/ALLIED ... duit-5GUJ8
Take a tie bar with you if you go to look at this.
These can be any length you want/need (within reason) remembering that the bench tubes NEED be 3/4" longer than the ways.
My first shorty was constructed using the rigid conduit. I had the conduit on hand because it had originally been a TV antenna mast.

Re: Bench and Way Tubes
Rigid conduit is 'pipe'(1.9" od). Emt is thinwall tube.

Re: Bench and Way Tubes
Don't forget the Bench Tubes for the Greenie Mark 5 were 1-7/8" OD.
