ER Addiction

Post by flyrod63 »

Man it set's in fast. Picked on up last weekend in a garage clean out deal that was missing some parts then another this weekend from craiglist.

I was aware of the newer models but these machines are amazing. I grew up in Dayton OH & always familiar with the brand. My Dad was a machinist which makes them even more interesting.

The serial numbers are ER19789 & E58351. Looking at the serial number survey link on here, if I deciphered it correctly. Are they a 1950 & 51 model?

Thanks in advance for any information.

Hi Luke,
Welcome to the Forum. Since you have already found the Serial Number survey you know the link to a wealth of information on all things Shopsmith thanks to Everett Davis. If you run into problems you will find help here. Pictures of your new finds are welcome and encouraged. Sharing our knowledge of the Shopsmith tools helps all of us know more about these great machines.

This is the first one I picked up, still getting the tubes cleaned up it seams to run well. The other one is not assembled yet the guy was parting it out luckily most of it was still there. It was his grandfathers and the bearings have been replaced so it is nice and clean.

Picking up a Mark V tomorrow and made arrangements for another one later this week :)

Big thanks to Everett for archiving all of the information that is great.
