Can anyone tell me what Mark V model this fits? I bought a 5/8 arbor and a dado set and this adapter was included. However on my Model 510 it does not seem to fit. It is supossed to go between the lower saw guard and the lower saw guard front panel. It included 2 machine screws. However, when I removed the front panel and its 2 screws to fit the adapter, it did not seem to line up and when I kind of forced it to at least appear to line up, the provided screws were too short. I was thinking this may only be applicable to the Model 500 or 520??
Thanks

IF that's what I think it is. A flat piece of aluminum, formed to the shape of the lower saw. It's for the old lower MKV saw guard.
SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders, molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.

Very likely, at the time I bought the Dado, I also bought the 5/8 arbor for other than SS Saw Blades. The guard was also included. I think its for the older systems. My 5/8 arbor fits non-ss blades and inserts into the SS perfectly. The only docs that came are as follows (no diagrams/pics at all_)...
********************************************
Aluminum Spacer
Pkg - 1 Spacer (shaped like a enlongated U for blades to fit), 2 screws.
To install the spacer, first unplug.... Next remove the front plate from the lower saw gaurd (currently in place on the Mark V).
Next locate the Spacer between the front plate and the lower saw guard. Install the 2 screws. (you will no longer need the original shorter screws that held the front plate in place).
With the aluminum spacer in place the lower saw guard will now accept any 5/8" arbor mounted blade or cutter designed for use on the Mark V.
**************************************************
That's it... nothing more. This guard will not fit between the front plate and lower saw guard without some serious trimming (at least on the 510).
Thanks... I do think its the older Mark V or maybe even previous to that.
If anyone else can confirm... please do so...
Dave

I have added a couple actual photos. The first is the adapter itself (555070). The second if of my 510. Note the adapter does not fit the 510 but as stated above is for the older systems with the METAL lower saw guard. I hope this is correct. Page 40 figure 3-23 of the PTWFE manual states confirms this.reible wrote:Thanks Chuck!
