Shopsmith Tips for new users

Post by chapmanruss »

Looking on eBay this morning I was reminded why I stated my Shopsmith Tips. I saw two different sales for Arbors that are selling for way more than buying them new at Shopsmith.com. This is one of the 14 tips I have written
Shopsmith Tip – Getting the best deal
When shopping on line for Shopsmith parts or accessories at auctions or other third-party sales, check the price at Shopsmith’s website first to see if you are getting the best deal. Checking at Shopsmith.com may also tell you if you are getting the correct part. There are different parts made for the headstocks depending on age and the different Mark V table/fence systems of the Mark V 500, 505, 510 or 520 and new Mark 7. Many of the “sales” are for current items and you may be able to buy a new item for less. Plus, the condition of used items may be questionable. Remember to compare the shipping cost as many online auctions charge higher shipping costs than the factory does. I have seen parts sell for much more than buying a new one including repair parts. Yes, there can be savings at the auctions, besides getting parts no longer available new. Almost all parts for the discontinued tools like the Model 10E, 10ER, Mark 2, the old Mark VII, Sawsmith Table and Radial Arm Saws must be found used. Shop around for the best deal. I hope you enjoyed this Shopsmith Tip. These tips are the Authors opinions and are not endorsed by RLF Brands, LLC.
I include one of my Shopsmith Tips in ads when I am selling my restored Shopsmiths. The people I have talked to that read my ads find them interesting or useful. I hope you will too.
