So everytime i pick it up to put it on the Shopsmith, the mounting base falls off and I am getting tired of having a sore foot from it falling off. So I already have the base, just needed the set screws for it.

You are talking about this part http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/cata ... ngbase.htm right?

   The mounting base is a storage base. It is bolted down to the storage location of the tool. It is not meant to be on the mounting tubes of the SPT when it is mounted on the SS. The set screws are really not needed. I am not sure why SS included them.

I think I must be missing something but, your comment above makes no sence to me.

Since it is being used as a storage base it may be better to bolt it down to the place where it is stored. As for the reason it has set screw holes they have been used by people who wish to make their own stand with a motor to use it separately as a stand alone tool. In the past you could buy a single or double stand for the same purpose but now they only sell the Power Station.

I was going to build a storage cart for my two accessories. I was wanting to use the base, bolted to the cart, as a place to store the jointer on without having to drill holes in the cart to hold it up. Without the set screws it would always cling to the tubes on the tool and suddenly drop off as I took it off the workbench. I'm sorry I did not mean to confuse you. Sometimes I do not make myself clear.
