Magna Drill Press 12.5 Inch Magna Model 730 - 1957

Post by everettdavis »

Magna Drill Press 12.5 Inch Magna Model 730 - 1957 Manual from Hans Private Collection. Did you even know Magna made a 12½" Table Top Drill Press?

They appear to be somewhat rare, but should not be excessively priced if you find one, so don't spend a fortune on one thinking it's worth a kings ransom.

Maunual is in a sub folder of main directory "From Dr. Hans Goldschmidt" titled "Magna 12½ In. Drill Press" Follow the Red My Google Drive Link at http://www.shopsmith.com/ss_forum/viewt ... 90#p185690

Magna American was into a bunch of stuff following their collaboration with Yuba.

One of the references I have seen, and I wish I could remember where, was that in 1958 Magna Power Tool Corporation merged with Weber Engineering Products, Inc. to form a new company Yuba Power Products Inc. a division of Yuba Consolidated Industries. It was from Weber the Lawn and Garden tools came from and when Magna American took over they got both the Shopsmith/Magna and the lawn & garden tool lines. Have you seen any reference like that to confirm or deny it? When I get time I will try to find it again.
