I said selective because this mishap occurs only with certain orders - or so it seems.JPG wrote:Who said anything about the software being 'selective'? I was relating to poor human factors that do not make it obvious when an order is not successful.dusty wrote:dusty wrote:
Yeah, sure. The programmer created a glitch that is selective as to whose order gets screwed up. I don't think so. My money is still on kd6vpe not completing the online activity.
During the last month and a half, I have has two online orders that worked their way through the system with no problems.
BTW recently your posts have been duplicated with the second quoting the first.

Re: Order issues
I got an email response in which they told me they are shipping it separately. Didn't say if it was meant to be shipped separately or if it was in error. They did apologize for the inconvenience.
I understand issues happen, I just hope they become less frequent. I hate to see shopsmith stumble, but they need to fix these issues. A month to ship orders, sale items on back order, mistakes like this, poor communication with customers, etc...
It's a tough business world out there, they are just lucky they have a near monopoly on parts, soon that monopoly will move further towards ebay though.

Re: Order issues
I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss software issues. I just got off the phone with ShopSmith becasue the order number I received from a 7/21 order was wacky 05b536c891c702 and I couldn't find it. The very helpful woman on the phone was able to give me the correct order number and said they just switched to a new ordering system and this was one of the issues. It sometimes emailed the PO number rather than the order number.
On a happy note, I should be upgrading to a 520 in a couple of weeks!
