Golden Eagle

Post by stickmaker »

Completed this golden eagle topper for a walking stick today, it is carved in Basswood. You would think it would be easy to find a stick to put it on. But I am out of straight sticks that have had 8 months to a year to cure. I do have some drying but they have only been drying about 4 months. And thanks to tropical storm Gordon I picked up 10 new ones in the neighborhood. This last week that will be ready to use in May or June of 19. I will have to go shopping. I like the free ones best.

Whatever stick you put it on will be worth its weight in gold. Your skill and carvings are simply amazing.
Thanks much,

The paint is acrylic with one coat of satin finish spar urethane. I will do another coat of urethane.
